Economica Institute of Economic Research
The Economica Institute of Economic Research stands for substantive expertise and methodological competence in applied economic research. Coupled with a high degree of institutional networking, Economica performs location-based economic research at all territorial levels with a pronounced policy orientation. The institute aims to generate new insights regarding economic and social phenomena and to share these insights with Academia, public institutions, the business community and the interested public.
Economica focuses on processes of economic structural change at the national and regional level. Its activities focus on research into innovation processes, the investigation of transport, supply and communications infrastructure (network industries), analyses of the formation of human capital and its accumulation, as well as on financial economic assessments and forecasts.
Economica maintains a wide range of macroeconomic and regional economic analysis and forecasting models. In addition, the institute is engaged in basic index-theoretical research and has its own survey-based socio-economic primary data base and an affiliated group of academically certified pollsters.
