In times of high unemployment, dealing with other labour market-related issues is more important than ever. This concerns both the causes and the consequences of labour market developments at national and regional level.
Based on fundamental economic concepts, we look at both the demand and supply side of the labour market. We focus on the development of wages, productivity and human capital, the causes of unemployment and employment dynamics, and the analysis of labour market flows (job creation and loss and worker mobility). As an additional aspect, we also examine the spatial dimension, since employment development in one region can depend on spillover effects from neighbouring regions.
In order to correspond to the current state of research, our methods are constantly being further developed.
